MAURY WHITE: One of the things that I enjoy most from the collaborative process personally is providing separating couples with the tools to deal with the problems that they're going to face going forward long after they're out of my office. Collaborative is designed to give safe place for a discussion of all the ideas and the issues that couples need to consider when they're going through a divorce, whether it's how we're going to pay for the children's tuition, how we're going to save for college, how we're going to buy winter coats and boots, or how am I going to afford to go back to school and have a career so I can have financial security, too. What the collaborative process allows us to do is to explore all of these different options, consider what the consequences might be, and see whether or not those consequences fit into each person's independent reality going forth. We look at the standard of living, the budgets, the incomes, the taxes, what each person will have after all the assets and liabilities are divided. And at this time of chaos and fear and uncertainty, you're able with the information that the attorneys and other professionals are able to provide for you in a calm atmosphere, you're able to make those decisions for yourself, for your children, for your family.
