MAURY WHITE: I'm attorney Maury White. I've been licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio since 1978. I'm the only attorney certified as a family and relations law specialist with an office in either Butler or Warren County. The question I ask most of my clients when they come in is--what story do you want your children to tell of their parents divorce? I'm deeply passionate about collaborative family law because I think it is the type of practice that can offer hope and a future for people that are facing the fear and despair and chaos that occurs when they're facing a situation that involves terminating a marital relationship. When people come to the office, they're afraid. And we take the time to talk to people, to listen. What they want most is for someone to listen to their story. And that's what we're here for, to listen. And the better that we listen, the better able we are to make sure that their goals and interests, fears and concerns are advocated, not only to their spouse but to their spouses attorney and eventually to--in court that might be involved. At the end of the week, I look back and I think of the people that I worked with, not the people I worked against. And that's what makes me passionate about the work that I do.
