A client’s comments about her Collaborative Law experience with Maury…
The Collaborative process has been very positive for me. Early on, many well meaning friends encouraged me to get a “shark” lawyer and take my husband for everything………Luckily one friend of mine suggested the Collaborative process and I contacted Maury White, (who is now my attorney). Maury immediately put me at ease, answered questions and explained the Collaborative process. I decided it was the right way to go.
My husband and I met together with our lawyers and worked through all the details of our divorce together. We made decisions based on what was right and fair for all concerned. It was an open and honest forum. No lying, no hostility. Our Lawyers worked together and were always looking out for both of our interests. We stayed focused and on track.. We got through the process in a timely fashion. As a result, we saved money on attorney fees.
I feel very positive and hopeful regarding my future. My ex-husband and I remain friends and our 2 children benefit. We are working TOGETHER regarding our shared parenting.

Thank you for all you’ve done for me this year. You were a rock of clarity and support every time I talked with you. I will certainly recommend you to other friends in a similar situation.

Dear Maury:
I don’t have my ex-wife’s lawyer’s email, but would you please pass on to her my appreciation for today. I felt like today’s meeting was 180 degrees from the last experience and I truly felt that this was “collaborative”, not adversarial. I also want to thank you for your counsel, trying to get me to think about me, and asserting yourself on my behalf. I have always tried to put those that I care about first, and I doubt that will ever change. I also wanted to thank your for your understanding that while this agreement may not be considered fair and equitable [in the court’s view] from our perspective and for me, it is.
Thanks again,
DH
